Account holders are required to link their Aadhaar cards with bank accounts by December 31, 2017, a deadline mandated by the government.

Banks have provided different ways to link Aadhaar card – SMS, through ATM and by visiting a branch at the earliest.

The UIDAI took to the Twitter and wrote that those who have applied for a linkage between their Aadhaar card and bank account can also check the status of their application on the official website.

Here’s how to check Aadhaar card-bank account linking status:

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI official website – uidai.gov.in

Step 2:  Click ‘Check Aadhaar & Bank Account Linking Status’ in the ‘Aadhaar Services’ section.

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page. Enter your 12-digit unique Aadhaar number and the security code displayed on the screen and click on “send OTP”.

 

Step 4: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP and click on “Login”.

If your Aadhaar linking is done then it will show “Congratulations! Your Bank Aadhaar Mapping has been done” along with your bank name, linking status and linking date.

Alternatively, you can also check this through your mobile.
1. Dial 9999*1#

  1. Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number

  2. Confirm that the digits entered by you is correct

  3. On confirmation, it will show you the bank account linked with Aadhaar

Points to remember
1. It will only show you the last bank account that has been linked with your Aadhaar.
2. If you have multiple bank accounts, you will have to check the status of the same with the bank.
3. You will be able to use this service only if your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar.
